World Rabies Day awareness camp by Dr. Shampur Madhusudana Trust® in association with Suvisesha Gnana Peeta, Mysuru Road, Bidadi & Shri Chokkalinga Vidyalaya, Hejjala.


World Rabies Day: A Brief Report
28 September, Mysuru Road, Bidadi.

On the occasion of World Rabies Day observed across the globe every 28 th day of September, Dr. Shampur Madhusudana Trust® (a charitable trust fostering rabies awareness and mental wellness) organised an awareness camp for school children at the school premises of Suvisesha Gnana Peeta, Mysuru Road, Bidadi and Shri Chokkalinga Vidyalaya, Hejjala.

The camp was conducted by Dr. Shampur Madhusudana Trust® represented by its members that included Dr. Reeta Mani and Dr. Deepa, researchers and practioners from NIMHANS, Bengaluru. The volunteers also included Dr. Parvinder Kaur and Dr. R K Shandil.

The camp included a short film for 15 mins in Kannada language followed by an interactive session with question and answers. The students from 5th grade to 10 grade along with the school staff participated in this program and were educated about the causes, transmission and preventive measures of the Rabies virus.

Speaking on the occasion the managing trustee Smt. Girija Shampur Madhusudana said “ the foundation was established to fulfil the dream of her late husband Bharat Vidya Shiromani Dr. Shampur Madhusudana, Head of the Department of Neuro Virology, NIMHANS of achieving a rabies free India. The foundation intends to achieve this by creating awareness among the young citizens of the nation and ensuring preventive measures. ”
